Beginning Wednesday, May 1, 2013, the Water Department will be replacing the water main and upgrading the Town's side of water services on Linden & Howard Streets. This upgrade will go from Highland to Howard Street and then Howard to Moynihan Road. During this work, you may experience short periods of time with no water, some discoloration and possibly some delays in traffic but the road will remain open.
Within our existing water main contract we are able to replace the 6" asbestos line to an 8" ductile line and renew our end of the water services (curb box) located at the edge of homeowner's property. If a homeowner is intending to upgrade their end of the service in conjunction with our work, the contractor for this project has indicated that they would be willing to install a new water service from the curb box into your home at the homeowner's expense.
Should you want to upgrade your end of the service you can contact Mark Cardillo of Cardillo & Son's at (617) 719-2238. Please note that you alone will be required to reach an agreement with the contractor and the Town will not provide any financial aid or oversight of the work performed. In summary, this is a contract between you and the contractor.
Should you have any questions, please call this office or speak to the project manager who is on site.
