Per the Board of Registration Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors Advisory: As of November 2022: “The delineation of existing or proposed structures, features or Boundaries relative to property lines requires the determination of property lines and therefore must be performed by a Professional Land Surveyor.”

Accessory Structures and Sheds Informational Handout

If a Decision of the Zoning Board of Appeals or the Planning Board is not recorded with the Southern Essex Registry of Deeds and/or if construction, or approved Use, is not substantially commenced within two (2) years of the issuance of said Decision, the Decision is no longer valid. Building Permits will not be issued without proof that the Decision has been recorded. Even if there is no construction planned, please check with the Building Inspector, Richard P. Maloney, 978-626-5246, [email protected] to find out if a Building Permit is required for the Change of Use.
