The Town of Hamilton is pleased to announce that longtime resident David Wanger is volunteering to assist residents who have questions or concerns or need assistance through regular open office hours each Wednesday, starting May 14, 2025, from 11 A.M. to 12 P.M. at the Patton Homestead. These sessions are designed to help residents better understand how the town operates and find the assistance and support they need to get their problems or concerns addressed.

David brings over 50 years of legal and civic experience to this new initiative. After earning a Master’s Degree in Labor Law from New York University in 1967, he spent his career representing labor unions in both the private and public sectors. His work spanned collective bargaining, arbitration, and labor-management relations across a wide array of industries and municipalities. David has also been recognized by the Archdiocese of Boston Labor Guild with the prestigious Cushing-Gavin Award for his contributions to the field.

David has been an adjunct faculty member at the Labor Guild, Boston State College, Suffolk University Law School, and MIT-Sloan School of Management; as part of his post-retirement activities, David serves as a pro bono mediator in civil actions in superior and district courts, and has formed an enterprise offering mediation services to parties in labor/management relationships.

Since retiring, David has remained active in the Hamilton community, having served on a Police Chief Search Committee, Master Plan Steering Committee, and the Finance and Advisory Committee, including time as Chair. He also contributes his time to Meals on Wheels and youth mentoring.

“There are times when residents have an issue or a concern and they don’t really know where to start to get that issue addressed, explained Town Manager Joe Domelowicz. “David’s weekly office hours will offer residents an independent resource—outside of any formal committees or associations—where they can ask questions in person, get accurate information, and better understand how our town government functions to serve them and lead them to the resources or programs that can help them.”

Office hours will take place from 11 A.M. to 12 P.M. at the Patton Homestead, 650 Asbury St, South Hamilton. Specific dates will be shared on the Town of Hamilton website calendar as they are confirmed.
