As we prepare for the start of the school year and recognize that there has been a recent increase in the number of positive COVID-19 cases in our area, the Town of Hamilton would like to remind all residents that COVID-19 is a highly contagious, virulent, and insidious virus.

In Hamilton, the Board of Health and Town officials – as well as the state government — are doing everything we can to minimize the spread of COVID-19.  But to be successful in this effort, we must have the cooperation of all of our residents.  So far our residents have demonstrated good faith efforts to follow all of the safe practices we know will help keep the virus in check.

A very important one is to strictly adhere to the Isolation Protocols for anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 and the Quarantine Protocols for anyone who has been a close contact of a positive case.  This is not optional; Massachusetts public health laws and regulations on infectious diseases require you to comply with these protocols or face severe penalties.

In accordance with our state public health laws and regulations, our Town Public Health Nurse will contact by phone anyone who is identified as a COVID-19 positive case or a close contact.  Please be responsive to her/his attempts to contact you and to follow the protocols explained to you.  The health and safety of all of our residents depends on your cooperation.
