Town Manager Joseph J. Domelowicz Jr. on Monday night, March 16, will recommend that the Annual Town Meeting scheduled for Saturday, April 4 be postponed. His recommendation is based on conversations he had with state officials in the past few days.

Domelowicz said he believes that the Board of Selectmen wants to postpone Town Meeting but the board must discuss it and vote at a meeting.

Monday night’s Board of Selectmen meeting agenda was posted before town leaders knew what steps could be taken to move the Annual Town Meeting. The agenda for the joint meeting with the Board of Selectmen and FinCom at 7 p.m. on Monday includes an opportunity for Selectmen to discuss preparations for Town Meeting, which includes the ability to postpone to a later date.

Town Counsel will be at Monday night’s meeting to help the board sort through its options for delaying the Annual Town Meeting if they wish to.
