Town of Hamilton

Fire Training and

Water Distribution System Flushing

(Due to an operational issue at one of the well sources the training tomorrow night has been CANCELLED)

The Hamilton Fire Department and Department of Public Works have scheduled a joint activity on the night of Tuesday, September 11th, 2018. The planned activity will include fire department training on the new engine and service hydrants and water system flushing. The training and flushing activities are planned along Highland Street, from Winthrop Street to Waldingfield Road and will begin at 7:00p.m. until 1:00a.m.

Please note that due to potential reverse flow pattern in the water distribution system, other areas outside the specific work areas may be affected during this effort.

To minimize discolored water getting into your system, please refrain from utilizing water during these hours (showers, laundry, flushing of toilets, etc.).

Prior to water use during the following day, we recommend residents run their cold water by turning on their outside spigots until the lines run clear as discoloration is likely to occur.

The Hamilton Fire Department and Department of Public Works appreciates your patience.
