2018 Citizens Fire Academy Class Date March 21, 2018
The Hamilton Fire Department is pleased to announce the commencement of its Fourth Citizens’ Fire Academy. The Academy will run from 6:30 pm to about 9:00 pm for four consecutive Wednesdays, beginning on March 21, 2018 and conclude on April 11, 2018 with graduation on April 18.
The Citizens’ Fire Academy is designed to familiarize citizens with the operation and function of the Hamilton Fire Department. Classes will cover various topics such as a history and overview of the department, fire safety, protective clothing, portable fire extinguishers, fire apparatus and equipment, auto extrication, special operations, and more. Classes will be taught by members of the Hamilton Fire Department.
There is no charge to attend, however, you must be 16 years or older and have a parent’s signature if you are under 18. The class is limited to 20 applicants. Applications may be picked up at the Hamilton Fire Department 265 Bay Road. You may also request an application packet by contacting Fire Chief Philip Stevens at 978-468-5560. Applications can also be downloaded on the Hamilton Fire website, www.hamiltonma.gov. or you can also pick an application up at the Hamilton Town Clerk’s office. The deadline for application submittal will be Monday, March 13, 2017. Preference will be given to Hamilton residents.
