There are multiple trees and wires down throughout Hamilton and power is out across most of the town, as of 5 a.m. Many roads are impassable and Hamilton DPW is working to clear roadways and National Grid is working to restore power.

As of 4:30 a.m., Woodland Meade, Railroad Avenue, Rust and Forest streets and Chebacco Road are all blocked by trees. Essex Street should also be avoided, if possible, because of multiple trees and wires down. Other major roads, such as Bay Rd (Route 1A), Highland and Asbury streets are all open.

Remember to treat all downed wires as energized lines and avoid them. There is no timetable for when the power will be restored. All power outage related calls should be directed to National Grid. For all emergencies call 9-1-1 or the Communications Center at 978-468-1212.
