Hamilton Human Rights Commission Invites you to join the HISTORIC SITE VISIT TO MASCONOMET BURIAL GROUND @ Sagamore Hill
Did you know that chief Masconomet, Sagamore of Agawam, rests at Hamilton’s highest point? Directional signs will be posted throughout the day for any who are interested in making the short hike to pay respects and see this important landmark in our community. Accessible shuttles will be available from the parking lot to the top of the hill from 11am – 12 pm, thanks to members of the Air Force Base staff. Traditional hand-made offerings such as tobacco, sweet grass, sage, feathers, shells, bone, stone, wood, vines, and prayer bundles of pouches may be brought to leave at the site.
