To help ensure strong community participation in the upcoming Special Town Meeting on Monday, June 9, 2025, the Hamilton Wenham Recreation Department is offering two special children’s programs during the meeting to support families who want to attend for $10 per child. This supervised program, held in the Rec Center and the Hamilton Council on Aging building, will provide fun, safe, and engaging activities for kids, allowing parents and guardians to attend the meeting with family friendly support from their local recreation leaders. Registration opens Tuesday, May 27 at 10 A.M. on the Department’s website: www.hwrecreation.com
Understanding that some families will need to bring their children and others may choose to, a family-friendly room will be available at the meeting to ensure all residents can participate in the way that works best for their family.
The Special Town Meeting will begin at 6:30 P.M. (Enter at Miles River Middle School) with voter check-in starting at 5 P.M.

Sports-Themed Program (Ages 5-12)
Location: Hamilton-Wenham Recreation Center Gym
Led by Sports Zone 101, a trusted third-party vendor who runs many H-W Recreation Center programs. Kids will enjoy a fun, active evening filled with games and sports activities. Drop off: 5:45 P.M. -
Enrichment-Themed Program (Ages 5-12)
Location: Hamilton Council on Aging (COA)
Also run by Sports Zone 101, this program will focus on creative and hands-on activities like LEGOs and STEM projects—designed to keep kids engaged and inspired. Drop off: 5:45 P.M.
STM – Family-Friendly
In addition, the Special Town Meeting venue will offer a family-friendly space in the school cafeteria, equipped with full audio-visual technology to allow parents and caregivers to participate in the meeting if they would like to bring their children.
